MANSEHRA: The central leader of the Muslim League Pakistan-Nawaz opposition, retired captain Mohammad Safdar, has said that if PTI MP Babar Saleem Swati from Mansehra becomes provincial minister, his party will not stand for election. presidency of the tehsil council.
“If Chief Minister Mahmood Khan shows respect to my hometown Mansehra, we [PML-N] respond to the gesture by not presenting our candidate against the ruling PTI in the election of the chairman of the tehsil council, ”Safdar told reporters in the Oghi region here on Saturday.
Mr. Safdar also appointed Mohammad Liaquat as the PML-N candidate for the post of chairman of the council of Darband tehsil in Mansehra district.
Addressing the PTI workers’ convention the other day, the chief minister announced that if the PTI won the Mansehra tehsil council elections, he would appoint local MPA Babar Swati minister.
Safdar flays government amid rising inflation and unemployment
The PML-N leader said his party would soon announce its candidates for the presidency of the tehsil council in the province, including the Hazara division, after internal consultation.
He said the Hazara division was a stronghold of the PML-N, which would sweep the upcoming local elections there.
Mr Safdar criticized the PTI government for inflation and rising unemployment rates and complained that people were struggling to make ends meet.
TENUOUS: Police arrested a man for illegally occupying land in the Lohar Band area here on Saturday.
District police officer Sajjad Khan told reporters that Abdul Hameed had occupied Mohammad Asif’s land and made death threats against him.
